Up sharply, on few sales. Read the jump in the median with care: it rests on a small number of sales, and the mix can tilt toward bigger homes. Price per square foot and recent sales on your own street are the better guide.

What changed
- The median sale price rose 11.5% year over year to $1,343,110; price per square foot rose 7.3% to $677.
- Only 75 homes sold in the three months ending September, so a few larger homes can move the median a lot.
- Homes took a median of 40 days, versus 58 a year earlier.
